Executive Coaching:
A subset of Life Coaching,
which can focus on any and all aspects of an individual's life, is
Executive Coaching. Executive Coaching helps business people,
managers, and business owners develop their personal power as leaders.
- Assists individuals
in achieving a balanced life.
- Helps people develop
their management skills.
- Assists clients in becoming
more effective in managing
their time, learning more effective ways of setting priorities.
Coaching is similar
to consulting, except that the coach stays with the client to help
implement the new skills, changes, and goals to make sure they really
happen. Coaching is not therapy. Coaches do not work on "issues"
or get into the past or deal with understanding human behavior. That
knowledge may come as clients move forward toward personal and professional
goals that will give them the life they really want, but it should
not be the focus of a coaching relationship.
Life coaching can be done
telephonically. Typically appointments are scheduled for one-half
hour per week. Occasionally there are additional appointments. Other
work is done via email and fax.
